Ocean Lines in Gdańsk

Ferries from Nynashamn, 60km south of Stockholm, arrive in (I-1), Gdańsk’s Nowy Port (New Port), about 7km north of the centre. There is only one ferry in each direction daily, so the terminal is not very busy. You can buy a phone card at the ticket office next to the main entrance......

Changing money.
The currency exchange at the gate does not offer good rates.

Getting to town.
The terminal is an eight-minute walk from BrzeĽno train station (I-1), from where you can take a commuter train to Gdańsk Główny (the last stop). Exit the port terminal building and keep walking straight until you see BrzeĽno train station. A train ticket to Gdańsk costs 4zł while a taxi ride will set you back about 12zł.

Ferries from Karlskrona, 500km south of Stockholm, arrive at the newly modernised Gdynia ferry terminal complete with its comfortable waiting area. Phone cards can be purchased at the entrance. There is no currency exchange, but you could change on the boat. From Gdynia ferry terminal, take bus N°150 to Gdynia Główna, the main train station in Gdynia (from where there are commuter trains to Gdańsk). A bus ticket to Gdynia costs 1.80zł. By taxi, the journey should cost you around 22zł. Beware of the taxi sharks waiting for unsuspecting arrivals to hop in their cab and charge them exorbitant fees once at their destination. Don’t use one of the cabs with only ‘taxi’ on the roof, go for a car with a company name or phone one.
